  Very poor display of bbq. Ordered bbq plate which was very small portion and what was supposed to be pulled pork was the garbage fatty pork commonly referred to as "riblets". Tons of fat and several small hard chunks of riblets. No flavor in the pork or the corn bread. The slaw was good and had cool looking chairs however they belong in a 50's diner.
  I would not recommend this dump to anyone!

  The BBQ was amazing! I had the chopped pork, my husband had the ribs, both were fabulous. Even the sides were great, and BBQ place sides are usually a letdown.

  This BBQ is delicious. Slow cooked over oak wood - YUMM!! I've been back several times - great BBQ sandwich, and the Sammie's Sauce makes it even better. Great fries - chicken tenders - and the homemade strawberry ice cream is oooh soo good. They've been adding items to the menu too, so it is always nice to check out what other good deliciousness they have to offer. I definitely recommend Sammie's for lunch - or dinner - or just dessert. You will not be disappointed.

  This down home BBQ join has it all: southern hospitality and damn good Carolina BBQ. The ribs had come right off the smoker when we arrived and they were divine! Smoked pork is a staple on the menu but make sure to ask if they have any other smoked meats before you order. The BBQ sandwich (pulled pork on a soft potato roll) was absolute perfection. The meat was tender and had a delicious smoke flavor. Of course, we couldn't leave until we had an order of hush puppies and needless to say they did not disappoint! There's a cute antique shop connected to the dining room filled with something for everyone. Sammie's (aka Mae's) is a MUST STOP and a perfect start to our vacation on the Outer Banks
